Responsibility for safety regulation across Great Britain is held by the Office of Rail and Road (ORR)
RSSB is the GB rail industry’s independent voice on safety and standards. It forms work programmes based on the priorities of its members and the wider industry, deriving decisions through member consensus. It enables and encourages cross-industry collaboration and cooperation, conduct independent analysis and research, and give its members an overview of the entire rail system.
The Rail Delivery Group is an organisation that brings together railway companies, to help them to deliver better services for customers. It brings together passenger train operators, freight train operators, as well as railway infrastructure companies Network Rail, High Speed 1 and HS2. Together with the rail supply industry, it is working to change and improve, and secure prosperity in Britain now and in the future.
The Rail Supply Group (RSG) is the leadership body for the rail supply sector, working in partnership with the Rail Delivery Group (RDG) to set the direction for the industry. It provides leadership and guidance to industry and Government and leads. a programme of work on behalf of the UK rail supply chain.
The Rail Sector Deal sets out a new approach to the rail industry and the government working in partnership to transform the rail sector – by taking actions to increase the use of digital technology, boost productivity, improve the service received by those who use our railways and build the skills of the UK workforce to capitalise on these opportunities.
