The Albacom Rail Cluster Networking event took place on the 26th February and was a really engaging event with a great turnout of Rail Cluster members. The event provided an excellent platform for networking, knowledge sharing, and exploring collaboration opportunities. Read on to find out more about the event.
Established in 1990, Albacom is a technology company, offering their customers engineering design, machining, electronics, procurement and manufacturing services.
By combining core power conditioning products—such as custom-designed power supplies, transformers, and machined components—with electronic, electrical, and environmental testing services, they offer everything from ground-up design and development to full turnkey contract manufacturing, and everything in between.
The rail sector is an exciting growth market for Albacom, who offer valuable insight and expertise gained from a long-established presence in the medical, aerospace & defence, oil & gas, utilities, and industrial sectors. Their existing customer base ranges from start-ups to blue-chip companies for both domestic and global export supply.
The event began with a presentation from Albacom, where they shared insights into their company’s history, the range of services they provide, and the diverse sectors they serve. Attendees gained an understanding of Albacom’s varied applications and expertise.
Project Lead Shona Clive provided an update on the Rail Cluster’s activities, highlighting upcoming opportunities and engagement.
Following the presentations, participants were given a guided tour of Albacom’s factory facilities. The tour showcased the company’s capabilities, including lifting and load testing, assembly processes with 3D printing capacity, precision machining, and the manufacture of bespoke electronic devices. This hands-on experience provided attendees with a tangible appreciation of Albacom’s technical expertise and manufacturing capabilities.
The event offered a chance for members to meet, discuss their respective offerings, share experiences, and align their goals within the rail sector. It was great to see that many of the attendees exchanged contact details to continue discussions on how they can work together.
Thanks to everyone who attended and of course Albacom for hosting such a great event. Head to their website to find out more about their offerings.
