Primary Engineer is delighted to be bringing its Rail Programme back to Glasgow for the 2026/27 academic year and would love to get Rail Cluster members involved. Thanks to support from Stadler Rail, the programme will be delivered in 10 primary schools across Glasgow, and Primary Engineer is currently seeking volunteers from across the rail industry to help inspire the next generation of engineers.

Volunteers are paired with a local school and help bring engineering to life by sharing their experiences and supporting activities linked to the programme. This could include attending a teacher training day, visiting a classroom during the project, or supporting a celebration event where pupils showcase their work. The level of involvement is flexible, and no experience of working with schools is required, as guidance and support will be provided throughout.

This is a great opportunity to inspire young people, promote careers in rail, and gain valuable volunteering and CPD experience. Places are limited, so anyone interested in finding out more is encouraged to get in touch as soon as possible. If you miss out this time, there will be plenty of other opportunities to volunteer with Primary Engineer across its wider activities.
